Renewal Approved for President/CEO

Trinity Metro Board of Directors Approves Seven-Year Contract Renewal for President & CEO Richard Andreski

FORT WORTH, Texas — The Trinity Metro Board of Directors voted unanimously Monday evening to approve a seven-year contract renewal for President & CEO Richard Andreski, reaffirming the Board’s strong confidence in his leadership and the future direction of the agency.

Since arriving at Trinity Metro four years ago, Andreski has led a period of transformation and momentum for the agency, helping elevate both Trinity Metro and the City of Fort Worth onto the national transit stage.

Among the agency’s most recognized initiatives under Andreski’s leadership has been the launch of Trinity Metro’s color-coded line program, an innovative effort designed to simplify transit and create a more intuitive experience for both existing riders and first-time users. The initiative has been widely embraced throughout the community for celebrating the unique neighborhoods and corridors each route serves while making the system easier to navigate and more approachable.

In addition to advancing customer-focused improvements across the transit system, Andreski has prepared Trinity Metro for major infrastructure and expansion efforts that continue to strengthen regional mobility and economic opportunity. Trinity Metro is preparing for upcoming groundbreaking ceremonies for the TEXRail extension into Fort Worth’s Medical District and the Trinity Railway Express double-track project, two transformative investments aimed at improving connectivity and supporting the region’s continued growth.

Under Andreski’s leadership, Trinity Metro has also continued improving fixed-route bus service with a focus on reliability, efficiency, and enhancing the rider experience across the network.

“Rich has brought bold vision, strong leadership, and tremendous momentum to Trinity Metro,” said Jeff Davis, Chair of the Trinity Metro Board of Directors. “Rich dreams and dreams big. The Board’s unanimous action tonight reflects our confidence in his leadership, the relationships he has cultivated throughout our region, and the exciting future ahead for Trinity Metro.”

Andreski has also established a dynamic leadership team that combines national transit expertise with respected local leadership, helping strengthen the agency’s connection to the communities it serves. Throughout his tenure, he has fostered strong relationships with city and regional leaders while helping raise Fort Worth’s profile within the national transportation industry.

That growing profile will continue this year as Fort Worth prepares to host the Commuter Rail Coalition’s national conference this fall, followed by the Texas Transit Association’s statewide conference and bus rodeo in February 2027, bringing transportation leaders from throughout the country to Tarrant County.

“I’m honored by the trust the Board has placed in me,” said Andreski. “The progress Trinity Metro has made over the last four years reflects an incredible team, strong partnerships across our region, and a shared commitment to building a transit system that helps shape the future of Fort Worth and Tarrant County.”

Trinity Metro continues to focus on expanding mobility options, supporting economic development, and delivering innovative transportation solutions for one of the nation’s fastest-growing regions.

About Trinity Metro
Trinity Metro serves Fort Worth and Tarrant County, providing safe, reliable public transit across North Texas. The agency operates bus, TEXRail, Trinity Railway Express (TRE), On-Demand paratransit and micro transit, bikes and vanpool services.

Trinity Metro provides direct access to DFW International Airport via TEXRail and connects downtown Fort Worth and downtown Dallas through TRE. Fort Worth Central Station serves as the region’s primary transit hub.

TEXRail breaks record

(FORT WORTH, TEXAS) Jan. 14, 2026 — Trinity Metro TEXRail surged to a new monthly ridership high with 129,115 rides in December – a 25% increase over December 2024. The growth can be attributed to many factors, including enthusiastic travelers who enjoy the ease and convenience of traveling to their favorite destinations by rail.

Since beginning operations in January 2019, TEXRail has provided a public transportation option between Fort Worth and DFW Airport’s Terminal B with multiple stations along the route in Fort Worth, North Richland Hills and Grapevine. Christmas activities in Grapevine and holiday travels to the airport also contributed to record ridership.

“This season was incredible! Trains arrived filled with families and couples using the convenience of TEXRail,” said Paul W. McCallum, Executive Director of the Grapevine Convention & Visitors Bureau. “We’re thrilled to see more people experiencing TEXRail and seeing just how easy it is to safely arrive at Historic Main Street without the drive, making the ride part of the fun!”

“Peak holiday travel places unique demands on airport infrastructure, and the continued growth of TEXRail ridership shows the value of giving travelers more choices,” said Ken Buchanan, Executive Vice President and Chief Revenue Officer for DFW Airport. “During the airport’s busiest travel periods, public transportation plays an important role in improving the customer experience by reducing congestion on the roads and at the terminal curbs. By encouraging the use of public transit, we help customers move through the airport more smoothly while easing pressure on roadways and airport facilities. It’s a win-win-win for the traveler, the airport and the region.”

More ridership highs

In addition to the December record, ridership increased for the last quarter and the full calendar year. When comparing passengers carried for October, November and December to the previous year, the total ridership was almost 14% higher. Ridership for calendar year 2025 was up 12% over 2024.
