TEXRail brief service disruption planned for May 20-21

To accommodate scheduled maintenance, TEXRail will have a brief service disruption late Saturday, May 20, and in the early hours of Sunday, May 21. Regular service will resume at 3:20 a.m. Sunday.

 Eastbound trains to DFW Airport

  • #278 departing Fort Worth T&P Station at 11:43 p.m. on Saturday, May 20, will terminate at North Side Station, arriving at approximately 11:55 p.m.
  • #280 and #182 will NOT operate on Sunday, May 21.

Westbound trains to Downtown Fort Worth

  • #275 departing DFW Airport Terminal B Station at 11:40 p.m. Saturday, May 20, will terminate at Mercantile Center Station, arriving at approximately 12:14 a.m.
  • #277, #179 and #181 will NOT operate on Sunday, May 21.

New option for loading GoPass Wallet

Trinity Metro is making it even easier for customers to use GoPass with a new option of adding cash to their accounts at local retailers. With options like 7-Eleven, CVS and Walgreens, riders can easily add funds to their GoPass accounts while out running errands at familiar stores.

The cash reload is through the VanillaDirect payment platform that gives customers the flexibility to add funds whenever it’s convenient for them.

In addition, GoPass users may utilize Apple Pay, Google Pay or a credit or debit card to add funds at anytime, anywhere.

 

United States Department of Transportation Deputy Secretary Polly Trottenberg visits City of Fort Worth and Trinity Metro

(FORT WORTH, TEXAS) April 25, 2023 – Trinity Metro, City of Fort Worth and North Central Texas Council of Governments (NCTCOG) welcomed United States Department of Transportation Deputy Secretary Polly Trottenberg to Fort Worth for a discussion and a tour of Trinity Metro TEXRail.

Trinity Metro President and CEO Richard Andreski, Fort Worth Mayor Mattie Parker and North Central Texas Council of Governments (NCTCOG) Transportation Director Michael Morris along with other local representatives joined the meeting with the federal delegation.

“Richard Andreski and the Trinity Metro team are doing incredible work implementing innovative transportation solutions for Fort Worth residents, and it was a pleasure to have the opportunity to talk with Deputy Secretary Polly Trottenberg about these efforts and plans for the future of transit in our rapidly growing city,” said Mayor Parker.

The group discussed how Trinity Metro delivered the original TEXRail project on time and under budget, which has provided the funding for the upcoming extension of the passenger railway to the Medical District. Other discussion topics included Safe Streets and Roads for All (SS4A) program, the newly proposed Fort Worth streetcar and rapid transit improvements for East Lancaster Avenue.

“Collaboration is key to successful transportation initiatives,” Director Morris said. “We enjoyed sharing our plans with Deputy Secretary Trottenberg and showing how NCTCOG, Trinity Metro and City of Fort Worth are focused on future transit options for the betterment of North Texas.”

“This was a tremendous opportunity to welcome Deputy Secretary Polly Trottenberg to Fort Worth to discuss TEXRail and strong ridership growth at Trinity Metro,” Andreski said. “We are proud of what we have accomplished together with our federal and local partners. The future is bright for public transportation in Tarrant County.”

The group also toured Fort Worth Central Station and took a ride on TEXRail from Fort Worth Central Station to North Side Station.

Free rides for Fort Worth voters

Throughout early voting and on Tuesday, May 6, Fort Worth residents can catch a free ride to the polls on Trinity Metro services to cast votes in the mayoral and city council member election.

Passengers may ride for free to polling locations during early voting from April 24-May 2 and on Election Day, May 6, by showing their voter registration card or current Texas ID.

Riders may choose from Trinity Metro’s bus routesZIPZONE on-demand rideshare services or ACCESS paratransit for voting.

To use Trinity Metro ZIPZONE, download the ZIPZONE app and book your ride. Free ZIPZONE rides will be offered to or from any identified voter center location within a zone. Freight train derailment alters TEXRail service

UPDATE: 3 p.m. Thursday, April 13, 2023

 Trinity Metro TEXRail has resumed regular operations and the planned bus connections during the service disruption will no longer be needed. All trains are operating on normal schedules between Fort Worth T&P Station and DFW Airport Terminal B Station.

“We worked collaboratively to return to regular service in a safe and timely manner,” said Jon-Erik “AJ” Arjanen, vice president of rail. “Safety is always paramount to our operations and procedures to provide the best service for our customers and employees.”

UPDATE: 11:15 a.m. Thursday, April 13, 2023

Trinity Metro has resumed operating TEXRail along the full route between Fort Worth T&P Station and DFW Airport Terminal B Station on an hourly schedule. While repairs related to the freight train derailment continue, TEXRail will operate on an hourly schedule because of speed restrictions.

When service returns to every 30 minutes mid-afternoon, TEXRail anticipates implementing bus service again between North Side Station, Fort Worth Central Station and Fort Worth T&P Station. More updates will be provided if additional service changes occur.

Because of a freight train derailment on an adjacent track early this morning, TEXRail trains are unable to operate safely between North Side Station and Fort Worth T&P Station. To help passengers travel between those stations and Fort Worth Central Station, Trinity Metro has implemented bus service until full train service can resume. In the meantime, all eastbound trains will start at North Side Station and all westbound trains will end at North Side Station. Passengers should not experience any significant delays.

(FORT WORTH, TEXAS) April 10, 2023 – To accommodate a network upgrade for TEXRail, the schedule of late-night trains will be affected Thursday, April 13, and Sunday, April 16.

TEXRail standardizing boarding locations

(FORT WORTH, TEXAS) March 13, 2023 – At TEXRail stations in North Richland Hills and Grapevine, new track designations will provide consistent boarding information for passengers. Each track will be designated for westbound trains to Fort Worth or eastbound trains to DFW Airport.

“Customers provided feedback about boarding, and we are happy to implement these changes April 1 to enhance the customer experience,” said Jon-Erik “AJ” Arjanen, vice president of rail. “The delineation of track directions will offer clarity and consistency for TEXRail riders.”
