(FORT WORTH, TEXAS) Jan. 2, 2024 – Trinity Metro TEXRail will be offering free rides on Wednesday, Jan. 10, 2024 to celebrate its fifth anniversary. To mark this momentous occasion, customers receive the gift of free trips on TEXRail throughout the service day.

The commuter rail line, which opened in 2019, provides convenient service between Fort Worth and Dallas Fort Worth International Airport’s Terminal B. The route has nine stations in Fort Worth, North Richland Hills in Grapevine.

Regular TEXRail fares are $2.50 each way or $5 for a local ticket, which includes the train, buses, ZIPZONE on-demand rideshare services and the west zone of Trinity Railway Express.

Trinity Metro will be operating modified service on Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. On Monday, Jan. 15, all buses (except those noted below) and ACCESS paratransit will operate on a Sunday/holiday schedule.

TEXRail, TRE, TRE Link, and CentrePort Circulator will operate on their regular schedules. All ZIPZONEs will have normal operations. The customer kiosk at Fort Worth Central Station will be open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Administrative offices will be closed. Our customer care representatives will be available at 817-215-8600 from 5 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Trinity Metro will offer FREE rides on all services in Tarrant County on New Year’s Eve, including buses, ZIPZONE on-demand rideshare services, TEXRail, Fort Worth Bike Sharing and ACCESS paratransit.

TRE will only operate one train to Dallas and one to Fort Worth for Dallas Stars fans. The eastbound will depart Fort Worth T&P Station at 5 p.m. One westbound train will leave Victory Station 20 minutes after the game.

(FORT WORTH, TEXAS) Oct. 27, 2023 – TEXRail will not operate on Tuesday, Nov. 14, so that crews can perform maintenance along the corridor between Fort Worth and DFW Airport. Trains will cease operations at 2:45 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 14, with plans to resume operations at 2:45 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 15.

If all work is not finished on Nov. 14, TEXRail will resume partial service on Nov. 15 by running trains on the completed portion of the route and connecting with a bus to run the full length of the line.

While TEXRail is not operating, airport travelers may ride TRE Link from DFW Airport to CentrePort Station, where they can connect to Trinity Railway Express for service to Hurst, Richland Hills and Fort Worth.

Two former Trinity Metro leaders were inducted into the American Public Transportation Association Hall of Fame during this week’s APTA EXPO in Orlando. Congratulations to Paul J Ballard and John P. Bartosiewicz for being honored among the best leaders in the North American transit industry. Their fall induction coincides with another celebration: Trinity Metro’s 40th anniversary of serving the community.

Paul Ballard was president and chief executive officer when Trinity Metro TEXRail launched commuter rail service between downtown Fort Worth and Dallas Fort Worth International Airport. Trinity Metro President & CEO Richard Andreski presented the award to Paul Ballard.

John Bartosiewicz was president and executive director when Trinity Railway Express and the downtown Fort Worth station and transit hub were built. The meeting room inside the station was named in his honor: John B. Community Room.

That includes all buses, TEXRail, ZIPZONE on-demand rideshare services and ACCESS paratransit. Plus, passengers will enjoy free rides in the west zone (between Fort Worth T&P Station and CentrePort Station) of Trinity Railway Express.

“Trinity Metro has been an integral part of the community for 40 years,” said President & CEO Richard Andreski. “We want to celebrate our 40th anniversary by offering free trips throughout November as way to thank our loyal riders – and to invite new riders to try our transit network.”

Trinity Metro began operating on Nov. 8, 1983, as the Fort Worth Transportation Authority. Much has changed over the years as our range of services and our community have grown and developed.
